Vincent Sheppard N.V. is based in Belgium. Final finishing of furniture and accessories also takes place at Spiere, not far from Kortrijk - the home of Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom furniture. The Design, Quality Control, Marketing, and General Management departments work closely together to produce our famous high-quality Lloyd Loom furniture.

We also run a Lloyd Loom production plant in Indonesia (PT Vincent Sheppard Indonesia), where we employ some 300 people. Founded in 1995, each worker are trained to a high level, until they have the necessary skills to completely finish a piece of Lloyd Loom furniture. All of our rattan-frame products are made in Indonesia, where there is a long tradition of rattan-working and of chair-weaving.

Another 120 people work at PT Vincent Sheppard Hungary Kft, founded in 1998, where all our beechwood-frame Lloyd Loom products are made by highly-trained specialists.

Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom furniture is sold all over the world; our Lloyd Loom pieces are equally popular in private homes and gardens, as well as in hotels, restaurants, shops, and other commercial premises. As well as Lloyd Loom chairs, benches, and bar stools Vincent Sheppard also produce beds, tables, storage chests and laundry baskets, all finely crafted in Lloyd Loom style. We have also designed smaller interior accessories, including mirrors, paper baskets, wind screens, and toy chests - unmistakably inspired by Lloyd Loom.

Alongside these items, at Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom have also made our own Lloyd Loom children’s line. The adult Sydney chair has been converted into a mini Sydney. The Chester, too, is available in a child-sized version. The children’s line comes in a variety of colours, and the materials used are as exclusive as for our “adult” furniture. Vincent Sheppard have made it possible to have Lloyd Loom furniture throughout your home.

The Lloyd Loom Production Process

What makes Lloyd Loom furniture so distinctive is the process used to create it. Paper twine is produced from large rolls of brown Kraft paper which have been cut into strips, and then twisted around iron wire. These are then made into woven mats and given a treatment to strengthen and protect them from damp. In Hungary the mats are stretched over beechwood frames and treated for a second time to produce finished furniture items. In our Indonesian plant, rattan frames are used. Aluminium frames are used for all of our outdoor Lloyd Loom furniture. In each case the result is a handmade piece of stylish Lloyd Loom furniture.

Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom products are always sent raw to Belgium or the other distributor countries, where the final paint or varnish finish is applied locally.
