High Quality Lloyd Loom Furniture by Vincent Sheppard
To make high-quality furniture, you need to use high-quality raw materials. Vincent Sheppard insist that the materials used for their range of Lloyd Loom furniture do not compromise on quality.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality paper
Kraft paper is woven around steel wire to produce an attractive yet durable material that does not crack or deform. The weave offers a smooth and attractive finish that poses no risk of snagging for either skin or clothing, making it a perfect material for furniture design. It also offers fantastic seating comfort! This weaving procedure, which dates from 1917, is known as “Lloyd Loom” or “Woven Paper”.
The natural appearance of the woven paper is particularly attractive when combined with leather or beechwood. The material can be finished in a variety of attractive colours, enabling you to combine Lloyd Loom furniture with the existing interior decoration of your home. For our outdoor designs, the weave has been treated with latex for protection against the elements, and is available in three natural-looking colours.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality beechwood
The beechwood-frame pieces in the Lloyd Loom furniture range are produced in Hungary by trained specialists. The finest beechwood is selected and treated with protective products. All items of Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom furniture, from chairs to beds, have withstood our toughest durability tests. You can be confident that our Lloyd Loom furniture will have a long life in your home.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality rattan
The bamboo-like stems of rattan can be cut into sections and used as wood to make all kinds of furniture, from chairs and tables to smaller accessories. Rattan can be worked into many styles. Our rattan frame Lloyd Loom furniture is produced in Indonesia, where there is a long tradition of rattan-working and chair-weaving.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality aluminium
Our outdoor range of Lloyd Loom chairs and tables are built from rigid, ultra-light, aluminium frames to create all-weather Lloyd Loom furniture products for garden and terrace.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality leather
Pull-up leather is used to cover various furniture items and for producing certain cushions. This leather is not dyed, but retains its natural qualities; including small irregularities here and there. This characteristic fits in well with the ‘natural’ look of the paper weave.
Lloyd Loom furniture: uses quality fabrics
The chair cushions we provide for our chairs are available in a range of designs, fabrics and colours. The materials which the cushions are made from are suited for intensive use and are washable. Trevira quality materials are also available. Further information can be provided by your Vincent Sheppard distributor.
Maintenance of your Lloyd Loom furniture
Worried that children or pets might spoil your new Lloyd Loom furniture, within a short time of you bringing it home? Have no fear. Because of its tough and long-lasting quality, Lloyd Loom furniture requires almost no maintenance, whatever the pace of your home life. Even designs from our outdoor range require little upkeep, provided they are stored indoors during periods of particularly heavy rain or frost. The woven paper can be cleaned easily by wiping with a damp cloth. Lloyd Loom furniture is naturally very dirt- and damp-resistant.
